How it works
Four steps, and you approve the price before anything is charged.
1. Send me what you are after
A link from any Japanese shop, a photo, or a description, and the country it is going to. If you do not know where to buy it, say so; finding it is part of the job.
2. Get a total within one business day
I check that the item can legally leave Japan and enter your country, and how it can be sent. Then I send one total:
| Line | |
|---|---|
| Goods | The shop’s price in Japan, including consumption tax |
| Purchase fee | 25% of the first ¥30,000, 20% from ¥30,000 to ¥100,000, 15% above |
| Shipping and handling | A fixed amount, quoted before you pay |
| Payment processing | 4% of the total |
The quote holds for 7 days unless the shop changes the price or sells out. Nothing is charged until you approve it.
3. You pay, then I buy
Payment in Japanese yen by PayPal, Wise or Payoneer. I buy in person or online, the same day where I can. If the item has sold out, or a lottery does not come through, you get the goods money back in full, and the purchase fee too if I could not buy anything.
4. Photos, packing and tracking
Every item is photographed when it reaches me. I pack for international transit and ship, usually within 3 business days of the last item arriving, and send you the tracking number. If you are waiting for more items, I hold everything free for 30 days and ship it together.
Shipping and import charges
- How it goes: Japan Post (EMS, airmail or surface) or an express courier. I tell you the options and the time each takes.
- Import tax and duty in your country are charged by your customs on arrival and are not in my quote.
- Exception, the United States: the duty must be paid before the parcel leaves Japan, so I collect it from you in advance, together with the prepayment provider’s fee, and show both in the quote.
- I declare the real contents and value on every parcel. I never mark goods as a gift.
If something goes wrong
I photograph every item on arrival. If the shop sent it damaged or wrong, I deal with the shop in Japanese. For damage in international transit, I give you the photographs and the paperwork for the claim.
